History of Graydaze

Origins

The story of Graydaze beings in 1990, with Gary Gray painting houses in suburban Atlanta.

These jobs provided funding for his favorite pastime of following the Grateful Dead across the country. But soon his side-gig became his new passion.

1994

Our First New-Construction Tilt-Wall Warehouse Job

1996 marks our first new-construction tilt-wall warehouse job. Now, in 2023, we are the largest painting contractor in the industrial warehouse sector.

2002

Alpharetta, Graydaze's House For 17 Years

In 2005 we moved into our Alpharetta location where we did business for 17 years.

2007

Growth and Evolution

In 2015 Graydaze began actively implementing Organizational Health management practices. This doesn’t sound like a huge milestone, but the impact of these practices goes beyond words.

Our culture is one of our top priorities and because of this our company grew exponentially in the years that followed.

2017

A New Office In The West

In 2020 the industrial warehouse industry saw a massive increase in construction due to the pandemic, which led us to open a new office in Salt Lake City, Utah to better serve our clients in the West.

2021

1990

Company Incorporation

In 1994 Gary got serious with his painting job and incorporated the company in 1994, which marks the true birth of Graydaze Contracting.

1996

First West Coast job in Stockton, California.

2005

Broke $10 Million in Revenue

In 2007 Graydaze’s revenue broke $10 million!

2015

Becoming 100% Employee Owned

In 2017 Graydaze became 100% employee owned!

This marks the closing of our ESOP transaction, which signifies our dedication to our core value of winning as a team.

2020

Broke $100 Million in Revenue!

In 2021 Graydaze revenue hits $100 million!
